About the Finster's

Robyn Finster is good at a multitude of things - two of which are coming up with business ideas, and appreciating a unique snack. She combined these hobbies in college with her own dessert cup delivery service, finding success in entrepreneurship early on.  After spending years in grocery retail management, then moving to working with small snack businesses across the country, she has developed unique knowledge and intuition on the salty, the sweet, and the savory. Her enthusiasm upon walking into a grocery store and discovering new snack foods is unparalleled, evidenced by the cabinets at home stocked with samples of every grab and go food imaginable. Robyn’s greatest snack weakness however, is candy. If there is a new chewy, crunchy, uniquely shaped, sugar coated, or brightly colored confection in her line of sight, you can bet she is going to take it home and let everyone she knows have the full review of it later.

I am good at a few things - one of which is being Robyn’s wife. In the 5 years we have been together, I have proven great at ensuring the multitude of opened, deserted snacks in the cabinets and fridge are not wasted. I also excel at Robyn wrangling in said grocery stores, preventing the quick run for some bread turning into a cart full of unsampled chips, candy, or cookies. Usually, I'm successful at keeping it to just half the cart. I became a sounding board for Robyn’s multitude of business ideas, sorting through those that are realistic for us to accomplish and those that require hiring a team of advisors and maintaining a payroll.

When we discovered freeze dried candy, it scratched an itch for both of us. Robyn’s passion for new, innovative flavors and textures meshed with my pragmatism for a business idea that would be realistically accomplishable. September 2023, we took the leap and Finster’s Freezies was born. Our hope is to find a community that is excited as we are about the variety of unique and off the wall snacks we can create in a freeze dryer while we explore textures, flavor combinations, and figuring out how much we can get away with fitting into this poor freeze drying machine.
